ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Hamline University softball team made the short trip to Bethel for a rare single-game on Sunday afternoon, as game two was postponed due to rain in the forecast. Royals pitcher Kayla Simacek's 14 strikeouts carried her team to a 4-1 victory over the Pipers.
Hamline falls to 10-6, 1-2 MIAC while Bethel improves to 14-2, 3-0 MIAC.

The Pipers mustered their lone run in the seventh inning courtesy of Kira Krueger, who doubled and later scored on an infield error to narrow the score to 4-1.
Gabby Cook and Jenna Rubbelke each went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Pipers, who finished the game with six hits as a team.
Theresa Klinnert went the distance in the pitching circle for Hamline. She surrendered 10 hits and struck out three batters.
The Pipers will host Saint Mary's (Minn.) (DH) on Wednesday, April 6 at 3:30 p.m.
