SAINT PAUL, MINN- The Hamline University men's basketball team was in action Saturday afternoon taking on the Cobbers from Concordia (Minn.) at Hutton Arena. The Pipers dropped a tough one as a late second-half comeback wasn't enough falling by a score of 65-60.
The loss will move the Pipers to 9-5 (5-3 MIAC), while the Cobbers will improve to 6-8 (4-5 MIAC) with the win.

The game opened up as a back-and-forth affair played within one possession for the first half of the period. The Cobbers took the first swing though with an 11-2 run to grab a nine-point lead. The Pipers were able to respond with huge back-to-back three pointers by
Sam Hoffman that brought the score to 28-23 at the break. The Cobbers came out in the second half as they pushed their lead all the way out to 49-35 with just over 10 minutes left. The Pipers were able to fight back outscoring Concordia 21-7 to get it tied up at 56 with three minutes left. The Cobbers were able to get a quick 5-0 spurt that the Pipers were not able to battle back from finishing the comback bid.
The Pipers were led on the day by
Bradley Cimperman with 14 points.Â
Austin Holt and
Sam Hoffman each had 13 points while Brandon Ebel added 10.
For the Cobbers they were paced by Jacob Cook who scored 15 points off the bench for them, he was helped by Dylan Inniger and Rowan Nelson each recording 11 points .
The Pipers will be back in action on Monday, January 16 at 7 p.m when they host Gustavus Adolphus at Hutton Arena.
