SAINT PAUL, MINN- The Hamline University women's basketball team took the court Saturday in big game at the top of the MIAC when they hosted Concordia (Minn.). The visiting Cobbers were able pull away late to capture the 73-59 decision over the Pipers.
The loss will drop the Pipers down to 10-3 (7-3 MIAC). The Cobbers will improve their record to 10-3 (7-3 MIAC)

The Cobbers had Hamline playing catchup from the jump drilling two early three-pointers to grab the early lead and controlling the first quarter 19-14. The Pipers were able to battle the lead back to as low as two before trailing 37-32 at the half. Concordia then came out in the third looking to pull away and closed the quarter on a 14-4 run to take a 54-41 lead. The Pipers weren't ready to die yet cutting the score to 57-51 but couldn't get closer than that dropping their third game of the season.
The Pipers were led in scoring by 
Michaela Stamer and 
Lydia Lecher with 12, while 
Sophie Stork added 10.
The Cobbers were lifted up by a 28-point game from Emily Baseman and a 14-point performance from Jordyn Kahler. 
The Pipers will play next on Monday, January 16 when they travel to Gustavus for a 7 p.m. game
