Macalester led for all but :21 in the contest, as the exception occurred with 5:08 left in the first half when Brendan Ebel's second-straight three-pointer made the score 29-28. That proved to be Hamline's lone lead in a 73-66 loss.

Austin Holt came through with his 10th double double of the season with 16 points and 18 boards along with six assists and two blocks for the Pipers. Bradley Cimperman led the scorers with 21 points and five assists on 7-of-11 shooting. Ebel rounded out the Pipers in double figures with 12 points.

Caleb Williams paced Macalester with a game-high 35 points and eight rebounds, followed by Coby Gold's 17 points.

The Pipers will host Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Monday, January 30 at 7 p.m.
