SAINT PAUL, MINN- The Hamline University women's basketball team was in action Wednesday night hosting Macalester. The Pipers cruised past the Scots in this MIAC matchup taking home the win 74-38.
The win will elevate the Pipers to a 12-5 (9-5 MIAC) record, the Scots will drop to 4-13 (3-11 MIAC).

This matchup started as a slugfest on defense with the Pipers taking a 4-2 lead with 4:28 left in the first quarter. From there the Pipers were able to take control finishing the period with 13-5 lead. The Hamline offense opened up from there in the second quarter capped off by a late three-pointer from 
Michaela Stamer to stretch the lead to 30-14 before the half. The second half was when the Pipers made their big push, up 35-18 at the seven minute mark of the third Hamline went on a 18-0 run to blow the game open and took a 55-22 lead into the final quarter. The Pipers were able to cruise from that point maintaining a 30-point lead and finishing off the win.
The Pipers had a balanced attack scoring lead by 
Larisa O'Neil who knocked down 4 three-pointers and finished with 14 points, 
Michaela Stamer added 12 points, while 
Chan'el Anderson-Manning contributed 11 points.
Macalester was led by Solana Cushing with 10 points.
The Pipers will be in action again on Saturday, January 28 when they take on St. Catherine's at 3 p.m. in Hutton Arena.
