It was a slow start for the Pipers, who were still searching for their first points over five minutes into the contest. The other end is how Hamline stayed in the game, as they stifled the Wildcats offense and made an easy comeback as back-to-back three's gave them a 6-4 lead. Another three pointer to beat the buzzer from
Larisa O'Neil put Hamline up 11-9 after the first. The Pipers continued to gradually grow their lead and shut down the Wildcats, holding them to just 17% shooting to claim a 24-16 lead at the break. Hamline came into the second half looking to fire up their offense and were able to get the lead as high as 15 in the third to really take control. This continued into the final period, where the Pipers were able to get the lead as high as 20 on multiple occasions as they finished out holding St. Catherine to 25% shooting from the field and 1-20 from three, and forced 25 turnovers.
The Pipers were led again by
Larisa O'Neil, who hit six three-pointers totaling 18 points.
The Wildcats were led by Sam Orth and Bree Glynn, who each scored 14 points.
Hamline will be back in action on Monday, January 30 when they travel to St. Mary's at 7 p.m.
