SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team hosted St. Scholastica in the front-end of home-and-home series at Tria Rink on Friday night. The Pipers finished the game with a 34-25 shots advantage, but it was Saints goaltender Ashlea Arvidson who posted the 34-save shutout en route in a 4-0 decision.
Hamline's third-straight loss sends their record to 7-10-1, 6-4-1 MIAC, while St. Scholastica improves to 5-11-1, 4-7-0 MIAC.

Each period resulted in a St. Scholastica goal, which started with Lisa LaRoche's tally at 12:00 of the first period that made the score 1-0. Mariah Haedrich's two-goal game began with a score at 9:43 of the second period that extended the margin to 2-0.
All three Saints power-play opportunities in the contest occurred in the third period. They would capitalize on two of them courtesy of Kayla Kasel at 5:15, and Hardrich at 10:56.
Allie Bussey registered three assists for the Saints. Airika Penney notched 21 saves in net for Hamline, while Haley Eder-Zdechlik led the way with six shots on goal.
The Pipers will travel to St. Scholastica tomorrow, Saturday, January 28 for a 7 p.m. game.
