Pipers Take Down Buccaneers

BELOIT, WIS.—The Hamline University men's soccer team traveled five hours southeast for a non-conference bout at Beloit on Tuesday afternoon. It was another day at the office for the Jessie Juarez-Ryder Tomlinson Sterud duo, as they each notched one goal and one assist to power the Pipers to a 4-0 victory over the Buccaneers. 

Hamline improves to 7-6-2 with their third shutout of the season, and reaches the seven-win plateau for the first time since 2018. Beloit falls to 3-9-2.

Hamline 4, Beloit 0

The Juarez-Tomlinson Sterud duo set up Alexander Taylor's first career goal in the 21st minute, which gave Hamline a 1-0 lead. The Pipers wouldn't find the scoreboard again until the second half courtesy of Juarez in the 59th minute, Pablo Casillas-Lopez in the 73rd minute, and Tomlinson Sterud in the 74th minute to widen the margin to 4-0.

Dane Hanks contributed an assist for Hamline, who out shot the Buccaneers 17-10.

Luke Rimington made six saves over 80 minutes of work between the pipes for Hamline, before Durham Welch didn't record a stop over the final 10 minutes. Henry Amini, Ian Nelson, and Teddy Bahu combined for five saves in net for Beloit.

The Pipers will finish their suspended game against Buena Vista from September 3 on Thursday, October 26 at 7 p.m. in Storm Lake, Iowa. Hamline leads 1-0 with 20:21 left in the first half.
