Cobbers Take Care of Pipers in Non-Conference Action

MOORHEAD, MINN.—The Hamline University men's hockey team traveled to Concordia (Minn.) for a non-conference bout on Tuesday night. Freshman goaltender Keaton Woosley registered 24 saves for the Pipers in his first collegiate start, but it wasn't enough in a 3-1 loss to the Cobbers.

Hamline falls to 3-6-0, while Concordia improves to 5-1-1.

Concordia (Minn.) 3, Hamline 1

A scoreless first period resulted in a 9-7 shots on goal advantage for the Pipers. They couldn't keep the momentum going into the second period, when Isaac Henkemeyer-How gave the Cobbers a 1-0 lead at 4:27.

Ben Luedtke widened that margin to 2-0 at 6:26 of the third period before the Pipers responded, as Scott Moyer cut Hamline's deficit in half at 2-1 with 10:16 on the clock. The Pipers mustered just two more shots on goal from that point forward, and Hunter Olson made them pay with a goal that pushed Concordia's lead to 3-1 at 13:48 of the third period.

Concordia won 41-of-63 faceoffs in the contest, and out shot the Pipers 27-25. Joe Collins and Joe Martin each had an assist for Hamline.

Dane Couture stopped 24 shots in net for Concordia.

The Pipers will host Concordia (Minn.) at TRIA Rink on Friday, December 1 at 7 p.m.
