SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team opened MIAC play with a convincing 71-47 victory over Saint Mary's (Minn.) at Hutton Arena on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pipers improve to 2-0, 1-0 MIAC, while the Cardinals fall to 2-2, 0-2 MIAC.

The driver's seat belonged to Hamline from start-to-finish. Michaela Stamer played the game of her life with a career-high 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 6-of-9 from the three-point line. This included a heave from the opposing team's free throw line at the first-quarter buzzer, which made the score 16-12.Â
Stamer also tied for a team-leading three assists with Josie Wiebusch. Lydia Lecher came through with a double double 22 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. The Pipers nailed 11-of-33 (.333) three-point shots in the contest. Fifteen individuals saw playing time for Hamline.
Grace Schaffer paced Saint Mary's with 10 points.
The Pipers will travel to Bethel on Wednesday, November 29 at 7 p.m.
