ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—Sophie Stork's career-high 20 points off the bench highlighted the Hamline University women's basketball team in their 76-65 road victory at Bethel on Wednesday night.
The Pipers improve to 3-0, 2-0 MIAC, while the Royals fall to 1-2, 1-1 MIAC.
Hamline 76, Bethel 65
With the score knotted at 19-19, Stork's jumper with 5:52 left in the second quarter kick-started a 13-0 run that gave Hamline the lead for good at 32-19 with 2:43 remaining in the frame. The Pipers would maintain at least a nine-point cushion from that point, and secure a 76-65 victory.
Stork, who also had two steals, finished the game 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Lydia Lecher had a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Camille Cummings rounded out the Pipers in double figures with 15 points. Kate Trachsel led the way with three assists.
Elly Schmitz paced Bethel with 17 points and seven rebounds.
The Pipers will travel to Saint Benedict on Saturday, December 2 for a 1 p.m. game.
