Pipers Run Through Wildcats

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team led from start-to-finish in a 73-56 victory over St. Catherine at Hutton Arena on Monday night.

The Pipers improve to 4-1, 3-1 MIAC, while the Wildcats fall to 3-3, 2-2 MIAC.

Hamline's starting five scored all but five points in the contest. Lydia Lecher notched her third double double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Next was Camille Cummings, whose 16-point performance was highlighted by four 3-pointers made along with three assists. Kate Trachsel came through with a career-high four steals to go along with four assists and 15 points. The free throw line was good to Michaela Stamer as she nailed all six of her attempts, which complimented her 12-point outing.

The Pipers shot .373 (22-of-59) from the field, while the Wildcats came through with a .321 (18-of-56) shooting mark. Hattie Fox paced St. Catherine with 10 points, while teammate Emme Golembieswski was stellar at the glass with 12 boards.

Hamline will travel to St. Olaf on Wednesday, December 6. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
