MOORHEAD, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team made the 250-mile trip northwest to Concordia (Minn.) for a Saturday-afternoon showdown. The Pipers defense surrendered a .500+ shooting mark just twice over the past two seasons. Both of those occasions occurred against Concordia, whose .519 (28-of-54) shooting mark today secured them an 82-59 victory over Hamline.
The Pipers fall to 5-2, 4-2 MIAC, while the Cobbers stay unbeaten in conference play with a 7-2, 6-0 MIAC record.

The driver's seat belonged to Concordia the entire game. They were led by Carlee Sieben 5-of-9 clip from beyond the arch, which highlighted her 23-point performance along with four assists. Emily Beseman's six assists engineered a Cobbers squad that finished with 22, the most by a Hamline opponent since February 2, 2019, an 81-49 win over St. Thomas. Beseman also had 15 points and six rebounds, while Makayla Anderson tied for a team-leading seven boards and rounded out the Cobbers double figure scorers with 12 points.
Hamline seniors Lydia Lecher and Michaela Stamer each recorded a double-figure performance offensively with 20 and 14 points, respectively. Stamer added three assists to her stat line, while Kate Van Helden had a team-leading six rebounds for the Pipers.
A combined 30 individuals saw playing time in the contest.
The Pipers will travel to Loras on Friday, December 15 for a 5 p.m. game.
