NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The No. 6 seed Hamline University men's basketball team's first trip to the MIAC Tournament Semifinal in 11 years pitted them at top-seed Carleton on Friday night. The opening half saw Hamline lead for the final eight minutes en route to a 32-28 score at intermission. This ignited the Knights, who out scored the Pipers 40-19 behind a 15-of-30 (.500) shooting mark in the second half, which secured them a 68-51 victory.
Carleton will advance to the MIAC Tournament Championship Game vs. No. 2 seed Saint John's (Minn.) on Sunday with a 23-3 record. Hamline's season ends with a 15-12 mark.

Brendan Ebel notched all nine of his points in the opening 20:00. His steal followed by a fastbreak dunk with 10:05 left in the first half cut his team's deficit to 19-16, and sparked the Pipers' 18-9 run that gave them a 32-28 halftime lead.
The second half was all Carleton, who outscored Hamline 40-19 and held them to just 7-of-29 (.241) shooting en route to a 68-51 victory.
Bradley Cimperman registered a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Hamline. Austin Holt chipped in 11 points, eight boards and three steals.
Luke Harris notched a game-high 22 points for Carleton.
The Pipers bid farewell to lone senior Blake Christensen.
