This matchup was tightly contested the whole first quarter with the two teams struggling to find separation playing to a 17-17 tie. The Pipers turned up the intensity on the defensive end in the second quarter allowing just two made field goals from the Saints in the period outscoring them 20-7 to take them to a 37-24 lead at the half. The Saints weren't ready to go away just yet though, climbing back early with an 8-0 run to open the half. The Pipers held them at bay from there until Alyssa Williamson was able to hit a three and come right back with a lay up on back-to-back trips sparking an 11-0 run to close the quarter up 60-41. The Saints tried to cut into the lead from there but weren't able to get it back under 10 as the Pipers coasted to the 74-61 lead.

The Pipers were led by 18 points from Alyssa Williamson and also got great performances from Chan'el Anderson-Manning with 16 points and Lydia Lecher with 14.

The Saints were led by Lexi Imdieke's 16 points, and also helped by 15 points from Jackie Johnson and 12 from Eve Turner.

The Pipers will be back at home Saturday afternoon to take on Augsburg at 3 p.m.
