KISSIMMEE, FLA.—The Hamline University softball team opened their 10-game spring break slate against North Park in Kissimmee, Florida on Monday. The Vikings and Pipers battled their way to a 6-6 tie, as weather forced a stoppage of play after one batter in the eighth inning.
This is Hamline's first tie game since a 3-3 decision against Rutgers-Camden on March 21, 2014.
The Pipers' second game against Amherst scheduled for 2 p.m. (ET) has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 15 at 9 a.m. (ET).
Hamline moves to 2-2-1 on the season, while North Park goes to 1-2-1.

The Pipers managed six runs despite just six hits against the Vikings' 15 in the contest.
Leading the way for Hamline was Abbey Herbert and Gabby Cook, who each drove in a pair of runs, had one hit, and one sacrifice fly. Raelyn Costley registered a 1-for-3 outing that included a walk, while Jenna Rubbelke's 1-for-3 day was complimented by a pair of runs scored and a walk.
Dana Rosbacka allowed 15 hits and six runs (five earned) over seven innings of pitching work for Hamline. North Park's Maya Lafnear allowed six hits, walked six batters, and notched eight strikeouts in the complete-game effort.
The Pipers will face Washington (Md.) at 9 a.m. (ET), and St. Joseph's (Long Island) at 11 a.m. (ET) tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14 at the Fortune Road Complex in Kissimmee, Florida.
