ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Hamline University men's tennis team made the short trek to Bethel for a Tuesday-afternoon dual, where they dropped a 7-2 decision.
The Pipers fall to 9-9, 1-7 MIAC, while the Royals improve to 5-10, 3-4 MIAC.
"Two good ones for first-year Zach Irrthum tonight, including a nail-biting come back at number five singles," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones.
Bethel 7, Hamline 2
Zach Irrthum carried Hamline on his shoulders as he accounted for both victories. It began with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles with partner Surprise Taylor, followed by a 1-6, 7-6, 10-5 decision at No. 5 singles.
The Pipers will end their 2022-23 season at St. Scholastica on Sunday, April 23 at 12 p.m.
