MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team's 2023 season finale pitted them at Augsburg for a Sunday-afternoon bout. The Pipers capped their 2023 campaign on a high note with a 13-5 trouncing of the Auggies.
Hamline ends their season with a 4-9, 3-4 MWLC record under first-year head coach Adam Dobis. Augsburg concludes their 2023 slate with a 4-12, 2-5 MWLC mark.
The Pipers bid farewell to three seniors in Taryn Leonard, Chloe Herbst, and Katelyn Krummel.
Hamline 13, Augsburg 5
The Pipers, who led from start-to-finish, out shot the Auggies 31-19 and got goals from six different individuals. Avery Wilson led the offense with four goals while Taryn Leonard was all over the stat sheet with four caused turnovers, four draw controls, two ground balls, and a pair of goals. Courtney Parker made her presence defensively with a team-leading six ground balls, four draw controls, and two caused turnovers.
Maitland Luksan chipped in three goals, while Maddie Swanson rounded out the multi-goal scorers with two along with an assist.
Jade Wilson paced the Auggies with a team-leading three goals.
Justine Case made 12 saves in net for Hamline, while her counterpart Nicole Schuster stopped nine shots for Augsburg.
