SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's basketball team dropped a 71-60 decision against Bethel at Hutton Arena on Wednesday night.
The Pipers fall to 6-9, 4-7 MIAC, while the Royals improve to 9-7, 7-4 MIAC.
Bethel 71, Hamline 60
Bethel jumped to their largest lead of the game at 51-35 off Colette Duinnck's layup with 8:17 left in the fourth quarter, where Hamline narrowed their deficit with a 25-22 scoring edge. The Pipers' comeback bid ran out of time in a 71-60 loss to the Royals.
Lydia Lecher led Hamline with 15 points and two steals, followed by 14 points and two assists from Michaela Stamer. Faith Johnson tied for a game-high seven rebounds for the Pipers, who had the upper hand in that category 28-25.
Duininck had a game-high 23 points, seven boards, and four steals for Bethel.
The Pipers will host Saint Benedict at Hutton Arena on Saturday, January 20 at 1 p.m.
