SAINT PAUL, MINN - The Hamline University men's hockey team welcomed in St. John's for a Friday night MIAC battle. It was a packed house at Tria Rink tonight for the Pipers but the Johnnies stole the show with a 4-1 victory. Goalie Bailey Huber was the difference maker for St. John's, holding the Pipers to only one goal with 27 saves on the night.

Hamline falls 6-9-2 on the season, 2-5-1 in conference play, while St. John's improves to 7-8-4, 4-5-1 in the MIAC.Â

The first period at Tria rink was a defensive battle between both sides keeping the score tied at 0 heading into the first intermission. The Johnnies lead the period with eight shots on goal while the Pipers were close behind with seven. Goalies
Maximilian Haselbacher for Hamline and Bailey Huber for St. John's stole the show in the opening period keeping both offenses out of the net. The Johnnies scored the game's first goal at 17:07 in the second period from Jackson Bisson to make the score 1-0. 10 minutes later St. John's added on with a goal from Jack Wandmacher to stretch their lead to 2-0. The Johnnies keep their momentum heading into the second intermission up by 2 scores. St. John's capitalizes off a power play with a goal from Justin Thompson at 8:28 in the third period to make the score 3-0. The Pipers got the deficit back to two with a power play goal from
Carson Simon at 7:06. The Johnnies add on one more with an empty netter to make the final score 4-1.Â
