SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's basketball team's 99-65 victory over Saint Mary's (Minn.) at Hutton Arena on Wednesday evening gives them their first seven-game win streak since the 1990-91 season.
The Pipers improve to 12-6, 10-3 MIAC, as well as an 8-1 mark at Hutton Arena. The Cardinals fall to 4-14, 3-10 MIAC.
Hamline 99, Saint Mary's 65
Hamline achieved their highest point total since January 6, 2018, when they defeated Macalester 118-96.
After each team traded the lead seven times, the Pipers went on a 25-8 run within the final eight minutes of the opening half that gave them more than enough cushion in a 99-65 victory.
Hamline achieved a season-high 99 points, 42 field goals made, and a .627 (42-of-67) field goal percentage. Bradley Cimperman led the way with 16 points, followed by 13 points and four assists from Austin Holt. Daniel McCarrell had 11 points, while Dominic Dosmann and Sam Bradley each notched 10 off the bench for the Pipers. Brendan Ebel registered a team-leading seven boards and five assists as well as nine points.
Hamline finished with 21 assists. Bretton Busman had 15 points for Saint Mary's.
The Pipers will cap their four-game homestand against Concordia (Minn.) on Saturday, January 27 at 3 p.m.
