Titans Clip Pipers on Day Two of UW-Oshkosh Tournament

SAINT PAUL, MINN.--In a rare Monday-evening contest, the Hamline University men's basketball team fell to UW-Oshkosh 74-65 at Oshkosh Arena, home of the NBA G League's Wisconsin Herd. This marked the second all-time matchup between the two squads, the first being on November 24, 2007, when UW-Oshkosh defeated Hamline 68-54 in a neutral site bout in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The Pipers fall to 6-6, while the Titans improve to 9-2.

The Titans established an early lead with Jonah Rindfleisch sinking a three-pointer at the 18:07 mark, followed by Joey LaChapell's three-consecutive free throws that made the score 6-0 with 17:43 on the clock. They widened that cushion to 11-0 off Rindfleisch's dunk, and LaChapell's three-pointer with 16:16 remaining in the opening half. The Pipers struggled with turnovers early on, but Bradley Cimperman scored 11 first-half points off two 3-pointers, bringing the score to 33-24 at halftime.

Both teams scored 41 points over the final 20:00, leading to a balanced performance overall. Early in the half, Jonah Rindfleisch made significant contributions for the Titans with a layup at 19:17 and an assist on Joey LaChapell's 3-pointer at 17:39, helping maintain a 42-29 advantage. Raoul Vaidya responded with consistent scoring for the Pipers, including a three-point play at 19:03. Brendan Ebel contributed to a late push with a steal and a fast break three-pointer that narrowed the margin to 67-60 at 3:28, but the Titans maintained their advantage with free throws by Michael Metcalf-Grassman, securing a 74-65 victory.

Bradley Cimperman led Hamline with 22 points, hitting 8-of-21 shot attempts and contributing nine rebounds. He also added three steals to his performance. Brendan Ebel made a significant defensive impact with four steals and scored 14 points, making 2-of-3 three-point attempts. Raoul Vaidya was efficient on both ends, scoring nine points and adding six rebounds along with four assists. Dominic Dosmann was highly effective, scoring 10 points with a notable shooting accuracy of 5-for-6 from the field.

Michael Metcalf-Grassman led the Titans with 22 points and 15 rebounds, making seven-of-13 baskets and eight-of-nine free throws. Jonah Rindfleisch contributed significantly with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and a team-high six assists, hitting five-of-10 shot attempts. Joey LaChapell added 14 points, excelling in free throws by converting six-of-seven attempts.

The Pipers will resume MIAC play on Saturday, January 4 at St. John's. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
