Pipers Opened 2024 Season Against Carroll (Wis.)

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team opened their 2024 season with a 19-8 loss to Carroll (Wis.) at the University of Minnesota Dome on Saturday night.

The Pipers fall to 0-1, while the Pioneers improve to 1-0.

Rebecca Hallman and Elizabeth Wang, who each registered 11 shots, engineered a Carroll squad that held a 38-16 advantage in that category. Hallman led the Pioneers with six goals and two assists, while Wang had four goals and one assist. 

Hamline's scoring was highlighted by Aoi Suzuki's three goals on five shots, as two of those scores occurred on the free position. Maitland Luksan had two goals and three draw controls. Courtney Parker also had three draw controls, as well as one goal and one assist. Analisa Aragon also had one goal and one assist to go with two ground balls and one caused turnover, while Maddie Swanson notched a team-leading four draw controls for Hamline.

Justine Case tallied nine saves over 50:15 of work in net for the Pipers. Carroll accumulated three saves between goalies Devon Duym and Sydney Everett. 

Hamline will face Lewis & Clark at the Augsburg Dome on Friday, February 23 at 10 p.m.
