The Pipers Cruise by the River Hawks 8-1

SAINT PAUL, MINN - The Hamline University men's tennis team traveled to Orlando, Florida to play Susquehanna University on Thursday, March 14th. The Pipers exceled in the scorching heat sending them to an 8-1 victory. 
 
Hamline improves to 7-4, while Susquehanna falls to 3-4 on the season.

This match started with the singles play first, the Pipers took five out of the six singles spots. The top two singles spots were dominated by Rumeal Setts and Isaac Hulterg both not dropping a set. Tyler Rousslang at three singles split sets against Susquehanna but found ways to win it in the tie break giving the Pipers the point. Elijah Krause at four singles won 7-6, 6-3. Junior captain Surpise Taylor lost a heartbreaker in three sets at five singles. Wrapping it up freshman Keegan Terrone kept his hot streak going by winning 6-1, 6-1. 
 
The Pipers headed into doubles with the lead looking to clinch the match. A new doubles pairing for Coach Spencer Jones was senior captain Isaac Hultberg and sophomore Elden Lee. They won the match by a tight score of 8-6 at one doubles. Setts and Rousslang dominated at two doubles 8-0. Junior Liam Smith paired with freshman Terrone gave the Pipers their eighth point of the match winning 8-2. 
 
The Pipers take on Scranton on Friday, March 15th at 2:30 p.m. continuing their spring break trip.
