Pipers Battle To A 0-0 Draw With Royals

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — Hamline University and Bethel University (MN) played to a scoreless draw at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex on Saturday, with the Pipers' goalkeeper recording two saves to secure the shutout.


The match between the Pipers and Bethel opened with both teams battling to gain an early advantage. Hamline's Avery Miller took a shot in the 4th minute, missing just high. Bethel responded with Malia Beilby's attempt at the 12th minute, which was off target, followed by Izabela Flores hitting the woodwork at the 15th minute. Hamline's Alexis Geary tested Bethel's goalkeeper, Autumn Maki, with a shot on goal in the 33rd minute, which Maki successfully saved. The first half ended scoreless, with both teams showing strong defensive efforts.


The second half between Hamline and Bethel remained a offensive struggle, with neither team able to break the deadlock. Hamline's Ellie Nhean had a shot in the 55th minute that went wide, while Bethel's Natalie Daniels had her attempt in the 60th minute saved by Maddox Fergus. Bethel continued to press with shots by Jessica Oliver and Eleanor Rundell, both of which were off-target. Despite multiple corner kicks from both teams, the match concluded with a scoreless draw as neither side could capitalize on their opportunities.


Fergus recorded a shutout with two saves over 90 minutes. Nhean led the team with two shots, one of which was on goal. Addy Ehler and Geary each contributed with one shot on goal during the match.
