DULUTH, Minn. — On Saturday, the Hamline University and the College of St. Scholastica played to a 0-0 draw at Kenny Harkins Field.
The first half between Hamline and St. Scholastica concluded without any goals, despite several attempts from both teams. Hamline goalkeeper
Maddox Fergus was notably active, making crucial saves against shots from Lily Rippie at 11' and 12', and Julia Lewis at 14'. St. Scholastica maintained offensive pressure with multiple corner kicks, but could not capitalize on these opportunities. On the other side,
Reese Keiffer's shot in the 27th minute for the Pipers went out, as did Hannah Holm's shot for St. Scholastica at 33'. The half ended with a scoreless draw, marked by several fouls and an offside call against Hamline in the 39th minute.
The second half was marked by defensive resilience and a series of thwarted scoring attempts. Hamline's
Danna Garcia fired an early shot in the 46th minute, but it was saved by St. Scholastica's goalkeeper Rylee Senich. Fergus, in goal for Hamline, matched those efforts, saving a shot from Anna Manion in the 52nd minute. Despite several chances, including a saved attempt from
Ellie Nhean in the 89th minute, neither team managed to break the deadlock, resulting in a goalless draw at the end of regulation time.
The Pipers will be back in action at home on Wednesday, October 8 at 4 PM against UW-River Falls.
