ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline University fell to The College of St. Scholastica with a final score of 49-18, despite Hamline's offense amassing 410 total yards on Saturday at Public Schools Stadium.
The first quarter began with St. Scholastica taking possession after a fair catch at their own 27-yard line. Donald West led an effective drive featuring a 24-yard rush, culminating in a 1-yard touchdown run by Stephan Jackson at 10:13. Jacob Andrews' extra point made it 7-0. The Pipers responded with
Zayden Stevens orchestrating an 8-play, 65-yard drive, including a 26-yard pass to
Dawson Schaffer and a 1-yard touchdown run by Stevens himself, though
Ashton Wolfe missed the extra point, leaving the score at 7-6. St. Scholastica regained momentum, with West throwing a 25-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Burgess with 58 seconds left, and Andrews converted the extra point to extend the lead to 14-6 by the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter, Hamline's offense executed a strong drive, highlighted by a 15-yard rushing touchdown from
Will Priest, narrowing the score to 14-12. However, St. Scholastica quickly responded with a 67-yard touchdown pass from West to Curtis Favors, extending their lead. Stevens later connected with Schaffer for a 20-yard touchdown pass, bringing Hamline back within striking distance at 21-18. St. Scholastica closed the quarter with a decisive 6-yard touchdown reception by Burgess, ending the half at 28-18.
The third quarter began with Andrews executing a 50-yard kickoff, which was returned for 18 yards by
Miquel Pittman to the Pipers' 33-yard line. Hamline moved the ball with a series of short gains, including a 31-yard pass from Stevens to
Samuel Pachuta, but their drive was halted by a sack and a penalty, resulting in a turnover on downs at St. Scholastica's 21-yard line. St. Scholastica's possession featured a 37-yard pass from West to Burgess, propelling them into Hamline territory. However, time expired in the period with the ball at the Pipers' 41.
In the fourth quarter, St. Scholastica capitalized on a series of key plays to extend their lead over Hamline. West's 20-yard rushing touchdown at 14:16, followed by Andrews' successful extra point, set the tone early in the quarter. West connected again with Teagen Lubinski on a 31-yard touchdown pass at 12:15, further widening the gap. Hamline struggled offensively, with Stevens throwing two interceptions and being sacked three times, including a fumble that was recovered by St. Scholastica's Nathan Miller. Despite some progress on a late drive, Hamline was unable to overcome the deficit, ultimately falling 49-18.

Zayden Stevens completed 24 of 37 passes for 339 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for a touchdown. Wide receiver
Dawson Schaffer caught five passes for 108 yards and one touchdown, leading the receiving corps.
Will Priest contributed offensively with 64 rushing yards on 12 carries and one touchdown. On defense,
Dominic Sandoval recorded seven tackles and recovered a fumble, providing a key defensive play.
