Pipers Showcase Defensive Strength in Solid 80-53 Win Over George Fox

NEWBERG, Ore. — Hamline (9-2, 2-1 MIAC) dominated George Fox University (1-9, 0-1 NWC) with an 80-53 victory on Monday night at Wheeler Sports Center. The Pipers capitalized on George Fox's turnovers, scoring 22 points off 22 turnovers, and secured a 48-34 advantage in rebounds.

Hamline opened the game with a dominant 8-0 run, highlighted by Dane DeDominces and Dominic Dosmann each scoring layups. The visitors capitalized on George Fox's 13 turnovers, converting these into 15 points. Brendan Ebel led the scoring with a three-pointer at the 12:49 mark, extending Hamline's lead to 18-2. The home team struggled offensively, shooting just 4-for-27 from the field. Hamline ended the first half with a commanding 42-14 lead, showcasing a strong defensive and fast-break performance.

Hamline secured a decisive victory over George Fox, outscoring them 80-53 in the second half. Raoul Vaidya initiated the scoring with a jumper just 21 seconds into the half. Ebel and Dosmann contributed significantly with Ebel hitting a three-pointer at 17:21, assisted by Brock Donaldson, and Dosmann adding a layup shortly after. Despite a strong effort from Dre Lawrence of George Fox, who tallied a three-pointer at the 10:07 mark, the Pipers maintained control throughout. The final moments saw Nik Domier scoring a layup with 47 seconds left, assisted by Torii Johnson, to close out a dominant performance.

Ebel led the team with 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and contributed four steals. Donaldson added five assists and five rebounds to his five-point performance. DeDominces scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting while recording two blocks. Ethan Wall-Atim made his presence felt with four steals and five total rebounds.

The Pipers will conclude their Oregon winter break trip and non-conference schedule with a game on Tuesday, December 30 against Pacific at 9 PM CST.
