Pipers Triumph 4-2 Over Saints

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Hamline (8-1-0, 5-1-0) defeated the College of St. Scholastica (3-7-1, 0-5-1), 4-2, with a balanced attack at their home venue. The Pipers scored twice in the first period and added two more in the final frames, maintaining a consistent lead throughout the game.

The first period commenced with St. Scholastica taking initial control of the faceoffs, but Hamline quickly shifted momentum. Abigail Chamernick scored the opening goal at the 3:26 mark, assisted by Averie Martin and Hannah Peterson, giving Hamline an early lead. St. Scholastica responded with a goal by Morgan Mitchell at 11:57, tying the score midway through the period. Hamline regained the lead when Nina Thorson found the back of the net unassisted at 16:56, concluding a strong offensive push. The team effectively killed a late penalty to maintain their advantage. The period ended with Hamline leading 2–1.

Hamline took control in the second period following a penalty on St. Scholastica's Morgan Mitchell, which led to a power play opportunity. Although the power play did not yield a goal, the Pipers maintained offensive pressure. Ashlyn Abrahamson broke through with an even-strength goal assisted by Abigail Chamernick and Grace Delmonico at 14:42, extending Hamline's lead. St. Scholastica attempted to counter with multiple shots, but Hamline's defense, backed by Kendra Nordick's saves, held firm. The period concluded with Hamline leading 3–1, maintaining their advantage into the final period.

The third period began with Hamline holding the lead. St. Scholastica quickly evened the score with Bailey Coole's goal at 17:40, assisted by Katie Sandelin and Kendra Royer. Hamline responded with sustained offensive pressure during a power play but could not capitalize. As the period progressed, Hamline maintained control despite St. Scholastica's attempts to shift momentum. With time winding down, Hamline's Calie Peterson secured the win with an unassisted empty-net goal at 1:59. The period concluded with Hamline winning 4–2.

Abigail Chamernick contributed significantly with one goal and one assist, helping her team with a plus-minus of +3. Ashlyn Abrahamson scored the game-winning goal and added a positive plus-minus of +1. Nina Thorson found the net once and achieved a perfect faceoff win percentage, going 4 for 4. Grace Delmonico excelled in faceoffs, winning 66% of her attempts while also providing an assist.
