BELOIT, WIS.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-11 road decision to Beloit on Saturday.
The Pipers fall to 0-2, while the Buccaneers improve to 2-0.

Most of the game's offense occurred in the first quarter, where both teams combined for eight goals. The Buccaneers wasted no time as Maya DeGeorge netted the first of her five goals with 14:33 remaining in the first quarter, which gave her team a 1-0 lead. The Pipers responded with a 2-1 lead behind goals from Nicole Phillips at 8:15, and Kayli Starkey at 7:06.Â
Beloit's next four shots resulted in goals. DeGeorge engineered a Bucs' 4-0 run with two goals, which put her team in front 5-2 with 3:43 left in the opening frame. This ignited a Hamline team that out shot Beloit 3-1 the remainder of the half, which included Nicole Phillips' man-up tally in the final minute that narrowed the score to 5-3.
The Pipers found the back of the net on their next three shots. This included Reagan Zywicki's tally that knotted the game 6-6 with 3:37 left in the second quarter. The Buccaneers regained a 7-6 lead behind Willow Mashkuri's goal as time expired.
Lauren Moorhouse's goal in the opening minute of the third frame knotted the score at 7-7. DeGeorge's fourth and fifth goals of the game engineered a Beloit 3-0 run that put them in the driver's seat for good at 10-7 with 5:51 remaining in the third quarter. The Bucs maintained at least a two-goal cushion from that point forward en route to a 14-11 victory over the Pipers.
Starkey, Phillips, and Moorhouse each netted a hat trick for the Pipers. Starkey also had an assist in her stat line to finish with a four-point outing, while Moorhouse also had a team-leading four draw controls and four ground balls.
Emma Collins also registered four points with one goal and three assists, and was stellar defensively with four caused turnovers. Zywicki netted a goal and dished two assists for the Pipers.
Beloit out shot Hamline 37-22.
Lola Brouwer made 14 saves in net for Hamline, while Kim Polin stopped five shots for Beloit.
The Pipers will travel to Saint Benedict on Wednesday, March 12 at 4:30 p.m.
