Pipers End 2024-25 Season Against Nationally-Ranked Knights

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's tennis team concluded their 2024-25 season with a 9-0 loss to No. 46 Carleton at Holt Courts on Saturday.

The Pipers finish with a 7-12, 2-6 MIAC record, while the Knights will enter the 2024-25 MIAC Tournament with a 15-3, 7-1 MIAC record as the No. 2 seed.

"Tough day to say goodbye to four terrific seniors," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "Tyler Rousslang, Tate Johanning, Rumeal Setts, and Suprise Taylor will always be part of the Piper tennis family. Rumeal and Cooper battled deep into tiebreakers in their singles matches against a highly nationally-ranked opponent and came up just a few balls short."

Rumeal dropped a close 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) decision at No. 1 singles, while Cooper Johnson fell short 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) at No. 3 singles.

The Pipers bid farewell to graduate student Rumeal Setts, fifth-year Elijah Krause, seniors Tate Johanning, Surprise Taylor, and junior Tyler Rousslang.
