Saint Paul, Minn. -- The Hamline women's soccer team defended their home pitch on a hot evening at Pat Patterson Field, securing a 2-0 victory over conference foe Concordia-Moorhead.
The Pipers got on the board early when
Addyson Barrett scored in the 11th minute, assisted by
Jayden Hernandez. Later in the second half,
Christin Broyles sealed the win with a goal in the 75th minute, assisted by
Alexi Schneider.
The Hamline defense was stellar, with goalie
Maddox Fergus saving all six shots on target to lock in the shutout.
With the win, the Pipers move to 3-1-3 overall, 2-0-1 at home, and start their MIAC conference schedule with an impressive win in front of the home crowd. The team will be on the road this Saturday, September 20th, to face Carleton, who opened their conference play with a 1-1 draw against St. Olaf.
