ST. PAUL, Minn. – Hamline University has named Haley Jung the Director of Sports Information Programs, officially beginning her duties on September 25.

"I am very excited to welcome Haley Jung to Hamline! Her experience as a DIII student-athlete and her familiarity with the MIAC makes her a great fit for the Pipers!" said Hamline Assistant Vice President/Athletic Director Alex Focke.

Jung arrived at HU after three years at the College of Saint Benedict, where she was the Operations Manager and Media Assistant in the athletics department. She took on many SID roles during her time at CSB, including story writing, graphic design, photography, and stats alongside being the primary game management contact. She also has been doing social media contract work with the NCAA for the past year with Men's & Women's DI Ice Hockey.

Prior to CSB, Jung spent two years at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota where she completed her Master's program, Integrated Studies with a focus on student athlete mental health, in 2021 while also working one year with intramurals and one year as a hall director.

Before pursuing her Master's, Jung worked with a NA3HL juniors hockey team in La Crosse, Wisconsin as the Business Operations Manager, where she was responsible for website management, game recaps, social media marketing, graphic design, photography, and game operations for the team.

Jung received her Bachelor's in 2016 with a double major in Sports Management and Marketing and a minor in Graphic Design from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She got her start in the sports information space while doing her internship at SMUMN alongside long-time SID Donny Nadeau and doing graphics and social media for the women's hockey team.

Jung is quoted stating,"I am honored to be given the opportunity to be Hamline's next Sports Information Director of Programs! Although my path may not be the typical of most, I am thankful and honored that Alex Focke and the rest of the Hamline Athletics Staff put their trust in me to continue to cover the legacy of Hamline Athletics. Go Pipers!"
