STEVENS POINT, Wis. — Hamline (3-10-2) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (6-8-2) finished in a 3–3 tie after regulation and overtime on Friday evening. The Pipers capitalized on a power-play opportunity in the third period to even the score.
The first period began with a faceoff won by Wis.-Stevens Point's Quinton Hill, setting the tone for a competitive opening frame. The Pipers started off the scoring, with
Nicolas Haviar scoring the first goal at 10:54, assisted by
Will Matzke. Wis.-Stevens Point responded later in the period during their power play, as Hill netted the equalizer with assists from Alec Hamady and Aiden Moser at 3:52. The period concluded with the teams tied at 1–1.
In the second period, Wis.-Stevens Point capitalized on another power-play opportunity to take a 2-1 lead over Hamline. Ryan Hintz scored the decisive goal at 7:11, assisted by Gabe Randel. Both teams exchanged several shots, with the Pipers'
Cade Chapman making critical saves and
Brock Carls contributing defensively with a block early in the period. Despite Hamline's offensive efforts, including a missed shot by

The overtime period between Hamline and Wis.-Stevens Point ended scoreless despite a flurry of activity. Wis.-Stevens Point's Chris Engelbert and Hintz tested Hamline's goaltender Chapman early, but Chapman made crucial saves to keep the game tied. Both teams traded missed opportunities, including a wide shot from the Pipers'
Tyler Jordan. Penalties on both sides led to alternating power plays, though neither team capitalized. Wis.-Stevens Point pulled their goaltender in the final seconds, but the game concluded with no change to the score. The game will go in the books as a tie, however the two teams took the end of the game to a shootout, where the Pointers would take the game 1-0.
Dulak scored one goal while maintaining a 77% success rate on faceoffs, contributing significantly to the team's offensive efforts. Matzke registered a power-play goal and added two assists, showcasing his ability to capitalize in key moments. Haviar recorded a goal and two assists, effectively generating scoring opportunities throughout the game. Chapman finished with 28 saves in net for the Pipers.
