BEVERLY, Mass. — No. 11 ranked Hamline (9-2-0) defeated No. 6 ranked Endicott (8-3-1), 5–1, in a decisive nationally ranked non-conference matchup. Hamline scored three goals in the second period and capitalized on one power-play opportunity to secure the victory.
Hamline began the first period with assertive play, dominating faceoffs and generating multiple shooting opportunities.
Calie Peterson and
Ellie Newpower led the charge with early attempts, but Endicott's goalie, Lauren Ferrari, managed to keep the shots at bay. Despite consistent offensive pressure, including a near miss by
Ella Rothe that hit the pipe, the Pipers were unable to convert their opportunities into goals.
Defensively,
Harper Powell stood strong in the net for Hamline, making key saves to keep Endicott off the scoreboard.
Annabel Mehta and
Iyla Ryskamp contributed crucial blocks to thwart Endicott's offensive efforts. The period concluded with both teams locked in a scoreless tie, as Hamline successfully countered Endicott's late power play to maintain the deadlock.
The second period was marked by a significant momentum shift for Hamline.
Abigail Chamernick opened the scoring at 12:05 with a power-play goal, assisted by
Ashlyn Abrahamson and Grace Delmonico, capitalizing on the advantage. This goal set the tone for the Pipers' offensive drive.
Later, at 4:01, Newpower extended Hamline's lead with an even-strength goal, assisted by
Brooke Klemz. Shortly after,
Annika Lindgren found the back of the net at 3:40, with assists from Mehta and
Emma Ramstorf, increasing the margin. Hamline ended the period with a commanding 3–0 lead.
Hamline entered the third period with a strong offensive push, winning the initial faceoff and maintaining pressure with several shot attempts. Though Endicott's Mackenzie Graham scored early at 16:27, narrowing the gap, Hamline responded decisively.
Ella Rothe scored at 13:21, extending the lead back to three.
Hamline continued to control the game, with Lindgren adding another goal at 6:54, assisted by Chamernick and Mehta, widening the margin. Throughout the period, Powell made crucial saves to preserve the advantage. Hamline ended the period with a comfortable 5–1 victory, securing a decisive ranked win.
