Hamline and Wis.-Stout Battle to 0-0 Stalemate

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline played Wis.-Stout to a 0-0 tie on Wednesday. The Pipers held off four Wis.-Stout attacks from 80:57 to 88:20 without conceding to help secure the scoreless result.

Hamline generated the first stretch of chances, with Addyson Barrett shooting at 5:55 before Ellie Nhean put attempts wide right at 7:00 and on frame at 8:00, where Kristen Silenzi made the save. Wis.-Stout pushed back from 12:49 through 23:28 with shots by Kayla White, Tessa Pagel and Alli LaVick around two corner kicks, and Sienna Parsons kept the half scoreless with a save on Pagel's bottom-right attempt at 19:48. After Elysse Tanaka sent the Pipers' next shot wide right at 34:33, Parsons made two more saves on White at 42:18 and Tia Rubow at 44:33, and the half ended without a goal.

Parsons stopped Tessa Pagel's shot at 52:57, and Hamline moved into a stretch of pressure with corner kicks at 54:04 and 57:53 around shots from Danna Garcia and Sharleen Garcia, plus another Garcia attempt at 58:40. Later, Nhean put a shot on goal that Kristen Silenzi saved at 69:53, and Wis.-Stout came back with Mckenna Long's shot that Parsons saved at 73:33. Down the stretch, Silenzi saved Garcia's shot at 78:08, Parsons handled late chances from Tia Rubow and Sami Moseng after a Wis.-Stout corner, and the Pipers added attempts from Riley Keiffer and Sonnie Luciano before the match finished 0-0.

Parsons played all 90 minutes in goal, made seven saves and recorded a shutout. Nhean shared the team lead with three shots and put two on goal. Danna Garcia also finished with three shots, including one on goal.

Hamline is 4-6-2 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play. Wis.-Stout is 4-5-4 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play.

Up next, the Pipers host Carleton College on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. at Pat Paterson Field in St. Paul, Minn.
