Pipers Stumble In Second Half, Falling To Cobbers 64-76

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Hamline (12-9, 4-8 MIAC) fell to Concordia College, Moorhead (16-6, 8-5 MIAC) 76-64 on Saturday night, despite leading at halftime. Concordia-M'head outscored Hamline 46-31 in the second half to secure the victory at Memorial Auditorium.

The first half began with Concordia-M'head establishing an early 4-0 lead through Jacob Cook's jumper and Jackson Loge's layup. The Pipers responded with a jumper from Dominic Dosmann at the 17:20 mark, assisted by Brendan Ebel, to close the gap. The teams traded leads multiple times, with Raoul Vaidya hitting a crucial 3-pointer for Hamline at the 6:21 mark to push them ahead 28-26. In the final minute, Dosmann's layup extended Hamline's lead, and they entered the break with a 33-30 advantage.

Concordia-M'head outscored the Pipers 46-31 in the second half to secure a win. Justin Courneya opened the scoring with a three-pointer at 19:12, followed by a series of layups and assists from Cook, who contributed significantly with multiple successful shots in the paint. Braedy Laliberte responded with a three-pointer at 16:21, but Concordia-M'head maintained their momentum. Payton Schell added crucial points, including a three-pointer at 7:56, extending the home team's lead. Despite efforts from Hamline, such as Vaidya's three-pointer in the final minute, Concordia-M'head's consistent scoring run ensured their victory.

Vaidya led the team with 17 points, converting seven field goals, including three from beyond the arc. Dosmann contributed significantly with 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds while adding four assists. Ethan Wall-Atim added five points and recorded four assists, along with four rebounds on the defensive end. Laliberte scored seven points and collected two steals, enhancing the team's defensive efforts.

The Pipers will take on Bethel at home in Hutton Arena next on Wednesday, February 11 with a scheduled tipoff time of 7 PM.
