TUCSON, Ariz. — Hamline secured an 18–11 victory over Crown (Minn.) on Wednesday at Kino Sports Complex. Hamline's offense delivered 14 hits and drew nine walks, capitalizing on seven hit batters to outpace Crown's 11-run effort.
Hamline took an early lead in the first inning with
Ryan Burley walking and stealing home, followed by a two-RBI triple from
Maddex Van Slooten, bringing the score to 3–0.
In the second inning,
Kaleb Corcoran walked and eventually scored on
Owen Hodson's RBI single. Hodson later stole home, extending the Pipers' lead to 5–0.
Crown responded in the third inning with four runs, capitalizing on a 3B error and a passed ball. Hamline answered back with three runs of their own, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Jake Hill, pushing the lead to 8–4.
The opposing team added one run in the fourth inning, but the Pipers maintained their advantage at 8–5.
In the fifth inning, Hamline scored once more with an RBI single from Hodson. However, Crown tied the game at 9–9 with four runs, aided by a double from Carrick Burke.
The Pipers surged ahead in the sixth inning, with Burley's bases-clearing double scoring three runs, making it 12–9.
In the seventh inning, a two-RBI single from
Jacob Barmore extended Hamline's lead to 14–9.
Hamline added four more runs in the eighth inning, featuring an RBI single by Alex Hokenson and a double from
Jacob Hasapopoulos, bringing the score to 18–9.
Crown managed two unearned runs in the ninth inning, but the Pipers secured the victory with a final score of 18–11.
Owen Hodson recorded three stolen bases and added two hits in his performance. Burley contributed with a double and three RBIs. Hokenson scored three runs and stole two bases. Corcoran collected two hits, including a double, and scored three runs.
