SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Hamline (4-21, 1-8) faced a tough doubleheader against Carleton (14-14, 4-8) on Sunday, falling 7–1 in the first game and 9–0 in the second.
In the first game, Hamline managed five hits and secured one run in the third inning, while Carleton took control with a combined five runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Carleton took an early lead when Megan Smith scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, making it 1–0. The lead extended in the second inning as Natasha Paez scored on a single by Smith, bringing the score to 2–0.
Hamline responded in the third inning when
Elena Martinez scored after
Mikenna Johnson reached first on an error by Carleton's third baseman, closing the gap to 2–1. However, Carleton added two more runs in the fourth inning with Angelina Wu scoring on a single by Samantha Rodriguez and Smith scoring on an error, extending their lead to 4–1. The fifth inning saw Carleton further its lead, scoring three more runs with Esme Song, Smith, and Paez crossing home plate on a single by Gloria Hronek. The final score concluded at 7–1.
Abigail Chamernick made an impact by drawing two walks and stealing two bases.

In the second game, Hamline managed five hits, including a double, but fell to Carleton 9–0 in a five-inning contest. Carleton struck early in the second inning, scoring two runs on a series of singles from Jade Thach and Esme Song, leading 2–0. The fourth inning proved disastrous for Hamline, as Carleton scored seven runs. Megan Smith and Adriana Wiggins contributed RBIs with their singles, while Thach added two more runs with a single to center field. Cora zumBrunnen finished the inning's scoring with an RBI single, ending the fourth with Carleton commanding a 9–0 lead.
Josephine Cariveau led Hamline with two hits, and
Julia Sina provided a highlight with a double in the fifth inning as a pinch hitter.
