NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Hamline University faced St. Olaf College in a doubleheader on Saturday at Mabel Shirley Field, suffering defeats in both games with final scores of 11-3 and 12-4.
In the first game, Hamline fell to St. Olaf 11-3 despite a three-run sixth inning rally. The Pipers recorded only four hits compared to St. Olaf's 15. St. Olaf took an early lead in the first inning when Regan Zak scored on Eva Hokanson's double to right center, leading 1-0 after one inning. The second inning saw St. Olaf extend its lead as Rylan Nakamura reached third base and scored on a single by Belle Schmidt, making it 2-0 by the end of the second.
The fourth inning featured significant action from St. Olaf, starting with Roxanne Ring scoring on a throwing error. Additional hits and strategic plays, including an RBI single by Zak, pushed their lead to 7-0 by the inning's close. Hamline responded in the sixth by loading the bases and seeing
Brennan Reid double to left center, driving in three runs as
Josephine Cariveau,
Elena Martinez, and

St. Olaf took control in the fourth inning, scoring six runs, highlighted by Abby Nevin's two-RBI double and Jill Arp's two-RBI double, leading 8-2. The Pipers attempted a rally in the fifth with a sacrifice fly by Cariveau, scoring
