RECRUITING AREAS: California, Northwest Twin Cities

The 2022 season marks Brian Sheehan's seventh at Hamline University, and his sixth as Assistant Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator.

In his very first season coordinating the offense, the Pipers set three school records, increased rushing yardage, and drastically reduced sacks allowed, interceptions, and offensive penalties. In 2019, the offense showed significant year-over-year statistical improvement in seven of ten contests and turned in their best single-game rushing performance in over five years.

Sheehan joined the Hamline community after four seasons at Defiance College, where he served as Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator. The 2012-2015 seasons were the program's most productive four seasons of scoring and total offense since 2000. Additionally, 54 Yellow Jackets earned All-Conference honors during that stretch, including a program record of six freshmen following the 2015 campaign.

Prior to coaching at Defiance, Sheehan spent five seasons as the Offensive Coordinator at Thomas More (Ky.) University, where he helped lead the Saints to four consecutive conference championships, two undefeated regular seasons, and four straight trips to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

Sheehan also spent two seasons as the Wide Receivers Coach and Strength Coach at Hobart (N.Y.) College, helping the Statesmen to the NCAA Division III Playoffs both years on staff. His coaching career began at Heidelberg University in Ohio, serving as Offensive Coordinator for the junior varsity squad while earning his Master's in Education.

The Cleveland, Ohio native received his undergraduate degree at Marietta (Ohio) College and was also a three-year starter at Tight End for the Pioneers.

Sheehan is married to his wife, Mandy, and the couple resides in Blaine with their two sons, Nolan and Liam.
