Terry Newsome

Terry Newsome will embark on his second season as Hamline assistant football coach in 2024. 

Newsome, a native from Los Angeles, California, played wide receiver at the University of Mary (NCAA Division II). He was named to the All-NSIC First Team as a kick returner and wide receiver. Newsome received MVP of the 2011 Division II All-American All-Star Game, and landed a private workout with the Chicago Bears.

After his playing days, he began coaching defensive backs at Rochester Community and Technical College. He followed that with a stint as wide receivers and defensive backs coach at Cretin Derham Hall.

Newsome earned his bachelor of arts degree in communication from University of Mary in 2011. He currently serves as Fitness Director at YMCA of the North in Minneapolis, and resides in North Loop Minneapolis.
