Calvin Mai

    Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
Calvin Mai is a sports medicine physical therapist who grew up in Chaska, Minnesota. He is a former Division I soccer player at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Mai played youth soccer in Minnesota with Plymouth Wings Nationals, having success at the State Cup and regional level. 

Following his collegiate career, he stayed involved in soccer as an instructor with Acceleration MN and then became a head coach and age group director with the Chanhassen/Chaska soccer club. Currently, he is a staff coach with the Olympic Development Program in addition to serving as a volunteer assistant with the Hamline men’s program.
 
Mai holds an United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “C” license, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) GK diploma, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
 
Mai’s experience as a soccer player, coach, and physical therapist has allowed him to stay involved in the community presenting injury prevention lectures and designing programs to various clubs. In addition, Mai serves as an adjunct sports medicine provider for student-athletes at Hamline University.

Mai currently resides in Minneapolis with his wife where they enjoy spending time at the lakes, dining, and traveling. His other hobbies include hockey, photography, and being with family and friends.
