Graduated from Coon Rapids High School as the first doubles player in school history to win sectionals two-consecutive years. Played club tennis at the University of Minnesota all four years, and finished in the top-10 at nationals every year. In addition to playing, Rumeal has ten years of coaching experience for public facilities, middle and high school teams, college intramural teams and has led feeder programs for K-5th grade children. He also served the tennis community through the USTA; and spent six years as a junior team tennis coordinator, manager of the officials, head of the officials northern committee, and both a USTA & ITA official.
