Raul Garcia III’s is in his first season with Hamline Women’s soccer staff but is no stranger to Hamline Women’s soccer. He was an assistant coach at Hamline University from 2016-2019 where he helped coach their team to the schools first ever post season MIAC playoff appearance in 2016. Raul was previously on staff as an assistant/goal keeper coach at Gustavus Adolphus College where he helped lead Gustavus to the MIAC playoffs in 2024. Previously also coached at Bethany Lutheran College as Goal Keeper Coach/assistant coach for both men’s and women’s program.
Also served as an assistant coach at Minnesota State University, Mankato. In 2019, helped coach the Mavericks with 19 wins for the second straight season, which is tied for second most in program history. The final record for the year was 19-4-1 with a 12-3 conference record, good for second in the regular season. MSU started the season out with five consecutive shutouts, including wins over then-No. 4 Central Missouri and then-No. 1 Grand Valley State in the same weekend at The Pitch. The Mavericks moved on to win their fourth consecutive NSIC Tournament Championship, earning the top seed for the central region. Minnesota State advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history with the first coming in the 2012 season. 2021, took a behind the scenes coaching position on the staff as a scouting and recruiting as he started his pastoral internship. Raul helped the Mavericks have another successful season, 18-3-2, Mavericks made it the Sweet Sixteen. He has been coaching for almost three decades at all levels of the game.
Raul has had a hand in coaching numerous All Conference, All Region and six All Americans. His club teams have won state, district, regional and USA Cup championships at the youth, high school and collegiate levels.
Raul is an ELCA pastor and is married to Rhea and has two college aged girls Grace and Trinity, plus their dog Marty.
