Hamline University Athletics

Alejandro Gonzalez, a recipient of the 2017 AVCA Diversity Award, is in his seventh season with the Hamline women's volleyball program during the 2025-26 academic year. The Fairfax, Minnesota native graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato with a degree in Social Work and later earned his master’s degree in Sport Management.

While at Mankato, Gonzalez served as the men’s club team captain and played both as a setter and libero. His coaching background includes serving as a volunteer assistant coach at MSU, volleyball graduate assistant coach at South Dakota State, and various camps at MSU Mankato, Iowa State University and University Minnesota. In the club scene, Gonzalez has coached for Southern Extreme Volleyball Club and currently coaches for MN Select.
