The puck stopped at the Hamline goal line nearly 80 times last weekend. That's because HU goalie John Sellie-Hanson wouldn't allow it to go any furthere. The sophomore was in excellent form last weekend as the Pipers remained unbeaten in MIAC play with 4-2 and 3-0 wins over St. Olaf. In the first game, he allowed an early goal and one in the final minutes but stopped everything else, finishing with 33 saves. The next night, he was even better, knocking aisde all 44 shots sent his way in Northfield. It was his second shutout of the season and is believed to be the most saves ever recorded by a Hamline goalie in a shutout effort.

As a result, HU is 3-0-3 in MIAC play -- their best conference start in five seasons. They stand 7-4-4 overall. In the previous two seasons, they won two MIAC games and three games total. Hamline's 13 points gives them a tie for second in the conference. This weekend, they host preseason favorite St. Thomas in a home and home series. Friday's game is at Oscar Johnson (7:00 p.m.) and Saturday's game is in Mendota Heights (7:30 p.m.).
