As a rule, Jenny Magill is one of those players who is seen and rarely heard on the Hamline women's hockey team. That is because he job is to play defense and keep pucks away from the Piper goalies -- something she does quite well.

But the Lake Elmo, Minn. native has offensive game, too. That was on display Saturday afternoon wheh she scored twice in the Pipers' 3-0 win over Finlandia at Oscar Johnson Arena. The victory propelled the Pipers to a 5-4-2 overall mark -- the firsty time they have hit the holiday break over .500 since 2007. That year, HU was 6-5-1 at the break and went on to qualify for the MIAC playoffs.

Magill has always been known as a slick passer. For her career, she now has six goals to go with 22 assists -- figures that out her 18th all-time in school history. But she is qually as porud of her ability to keep players away from the goal. She is a +3 on the season, the second highest figure on the team.

The Hill-Murray grad gets a break now. Hamline's next game isn't until January 6 when they will face St. Catherine in a non-conference game at Drake Arena.
