What a difference a year makes for HU sophomore men's soccer forward Ben Pietsch.  In 2015, he played in all 19 Piper games and scored once.

In 2016, he is tied for the MIAC lead in goals. The sophomore has netted one in each of the Pipers' last four games -- all of which have been wins. Three of those have been gamewinners as HU improved to 4-1 overall with a 7-0 win over Crown at Paterson Field and a 2-0 decision last Saturday at Grinnell. (Pietsch's three GW goals ranks third among all D-III players.) 

Pietsch scored as part of a five goal first half explosion in the win over Crown. At Grinnell, his solo goal 27:17 into the game was all HU would need for the win. The four straight wins is two short of the school record set in 2004.

Pietsch and his mates will be looking to tie that mark and get off to a good start in the MIAC when they visit Moorhead Wednesday to face Concordia in the conference opener. HU hosts Wis-Superior this Saturday at Paterson Field at 3:30 p.m.
