As Yogi Berra once eloquently noted, "In baseball, you don't know nuthin'."

Just ask Hamline senior pitcher Zach Munsterman. 

Last Saturday, Munsterman performed a baseball rarity -- a four-inning save -- in the Pipers' 9-4 win over Concordia in the second game of a doubleheader at CHS Field. 

When Munsterman entered the game in the top of the sixth inning, Hamline had a 6-4 lead. The righty surrendered a single but nothing else in his first inning of work. he added a perfect seventh inning to his workload and then saw his teammates add three runs in the bottom of that inning. Thus encouraged, The Crystal, Minn. native mowed down the Ciobbers in the next two innings, allowing a walk and a single. But none of the runners ventured past first base, throwing 64 pitches to earn the save.

To make it all more remarkable, it was his second appearance of the afternoon. Zach threw 27 pitches in two innings of mopup work in Hamline's 4-0 loss. Throw in a scoreless inning Zach mustered on Thursday nat Bethel and his line for the week read 7P, 4 H, 0 ER. 

Munsterman and his tireless right arm will be in Northfield Tuesday as HU plays a pair of games at St. Olaf. On Saturday, HU plays a pair of games at St. Thomas.
